BCP kicked off the school year with an amazing Fifth Annual Back-to-School event, reaching more families than ever before. At BCP, we understand that supporting children’s well-being is about more than traditional medical care; it includes ensuring that each child can achieve their full academic potential and has the tools they need to succeed in life.
That’s why BCP brought together over 200 families–more than 350 children–for a celebratory day of community and back-to-school preparations! Among friends, family, and community members, students selected from hundreds of backpacks filled with essential school supplies and hygiene products. And families enjoyed a variety of fun activities:
meeting beloved Red Sox mascot, Wally,
tossing footballs with Patriots alum Ronnie Lippett,
decorating school supplies,
playing field games, and
posing for pictures in the BCP photo booth!
Of course, no BCP gathering is complete without tasty food, and, as always, BCP helps to address growing food insecurity by providing shelf-stable groceries and bags of fresh produce for families to bring home.
BCP is deeply grateful to our many community members whose contributions made this event possible. Our deepest thanks to:
Our supportive elected and appointed officials, City Councilor John Fitzgerald, Rep. John Moran, and Sarah Sharpe from Mayor Michelle Wu’s Office, who joined us to ring in the school year;
BCP’s incredible team of volunteers, the BCP Brigade, who pitched in here, there, and everywhere; and
Our many community partners and collaborators, whose efforts brought this event to life: The BASE, NCL Wellesley, CapitalTN LLC, The Huntington YMCA, Greater Boston Food Bank, Hope & Comfort, Life Science Cares, Q32 Bio, Bain Capital, and Comellas.
Together, we helped ensure that all children–regardless of circumstance–can head back to the classroom well-supplied and ready to thrive!
