BCP honors its community and looks toward its future

BOSTON, November 14, 2025 – Boston Community Pediatrics (BCP), the city’s only non-profit pediatric private practice, commemorated its fifth anniversary with an evening celebrating innovation, equity, and the community that has shaped its mission. Since opening its doors in November 2020, BCP has advanced a nationally recognized model of care that places social determinants of health at the center, ensuring every child receives high-quality medical and mental health care within a relationship-driven framework.

In just five years, BCP has grown from a team of 12 serving 350 patients to a staff of 22 serving nearly 1,700 children, and continues to expand to meet community needs.

To mark this milestone, BCP hosted Voices From the Front Lines: Celebrating 5 Years of Innovation & Impact on November 13, 2025, at the SoWa Power Station.

More than 550 community members attended the inspirational evening, which raised nearly $1.5 million to support BCP’s transformative model. The event convened government leaders, healthcare innovators, equity advocates, and social justice champions from across the Commonwealth and beyond.

The celebration honored the many voices that have shaped BCP’s story. Award recipients included:

  • Bold Believer Award - Highlighting a patient-family who has played a pivotal role in shaping BCP’s foundation and mission

    • Jasmine Tinker

  • Dr. Gerald Hass Heart of Healthcare Award - Celebrating the medical professionals who have gone above and beyond in patient-centered care

    • BCP Front Line Staff

  • Community Champion Award - Recognizing community leaders who have made a lasting impact on Boston’s children and families

    • Rev. Dr. Gloria White-Hammond & Rev. Dr. Ray Hammond

  • Bridge Builder Award - Honoring a corporate partner that has played a vital role in expanding BCP’s reach

    • Silversmith Capital Partners

  • Legacy Award - Appreciating a public figure whose contributions will have a lasting impact on the future of BCP

    • Demond Martin, Co-Founder and CEO, WellWithAll

Honorees offered personal reflections on the organization’s impact. Bold Believer awardee Jasmine Tinker shared:

“When the doctors I trusted launched Boston Community Pediatrics in 2020, I followed them immediately… For my eight children, BCP has been an absolute fortress of safety. When the world felt impossibly heavy—especially when we were isolated and the world shut down—BCP was the steady light that stepped up for us.”

The evening also explored a central question: How can we invest in healthcare differently? What would happen if we put patients, our children, first? In her keynote address, BCP Founder, Dr. Robyn Riseberg, answered: “BCP is what it looks like to invest differently - to invest in the power of pediatric primary care and invest in health and not just healthcare…We will keep investing in a new way forward—until the results are so undeniable, so irresistible—that every healthcare institution agrees they can and must invest in our kids, in our health, and in our future.”

Dr. Riseberg also announced BCP’s plans to open additional practices in the coming years, expanding access to more families across Massachusetts. She expressed deep gratitude to the organization’s supporters, noting that this next phase of growth is only possible through their commitment to health equity and justice.

The event also premiered Beyond Medicine: The Story of Boston Community Pediatrics, a short documentary-style film highlighting BCP’s impact and its work to transform a broken pediatric healthcare system.

Reflecting on the journey, Riseberg shared:

“It is hard to believe that BCP opened its doors at 527 Albany Street one cold morning, in the middle of COVID, five years ago. By then, I had already spent many years dreaming about what BCP could be—it has surpassed even my wildest dreams. All we have accomplished in these short five years is a testament to the power, perseverance, and passion of a small but mighty community. Our work is well underway, but not nearly finished.”
